Egg donation (egg transplant) is a procedure used for patients who cannot become pregnant with their own eggs, but who have a healthy uterus. An egg donor’s eggs are used in this treatment.
To Whom Can Egg Donation Be Applied?
- Menopause patients
- Patients in transition to menopause
- Patients over 43 years old
- Patients with recurrent IVF failure
- Patients whose eggs are detected to be of low quality in their previous IVF attempts
- Cases when an egg can’t be retrieved in an IVF attempt
- Oophorectomy cases
- Patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy
Infertility is a term, which is given to the condition of people or couples who have not been able to conceive naturally for a period of time.
The time required to seek assistance from a doctor for people under 35, who cannot conceive naturally, is one year. Above the age of 35, it is 6 months.
The couple must be assessed in detail. As a result of this evaluation, necessary treatments for the patients are then determined. This treatment can be following ovulation, IUI or IVF.
The required treatment for each patient is determined as a result of the following diagnostic methods.
Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is an examination method that enables couples with genetic diseases in their families or for infertile couples who have not responded to the treatments to get a healthy baby using the IVF method.
In this technique, the embryos obtained from the couples are examined one by one and the genetically healthy embryos are separated from the abnormal embryos. The embryos that are determined to be genetically normal are then transferred to the mother candidate.
PGD has three main uses. The first one is for older women who are trying to become pregnant through IVF treatment. In particular, the percentage of oocytes containing chromosomal abnormalities increases at a certain rate from the age of 37, and abnormal embryos can be formed by fertilization of these eggs.
Insemination is a method that is applied to patients who cannot get pregnant through natural means.
Some medicines are used to enlarge the eggs (1 or 2 of them) and ensure that they are properly released by the trigger injection. Following this procedure, the sperm is prepared in the laboratory at the 36th hour, the fastest ones are selected and the delivery into the uterus is provided by a fine catheter.
It is a simple method that does not require anesthesia. The success rate is around 15%.
In the IVF / ICSI procedures, personal treatment approaches for the individual are taken as basis.
Ovarian Stimulation
An egg develops in every woman in a natural menstrual period. In the case of IVF treatment, some hormone injections are used on a daily basis to obtain more eggs, to therefore achieve more embryos. This process is approximately 10-20 days depending on the treatment protocol applied and the response of the patient’s ovaries.
What is Embryo Donation?
If a couple cannot conceive a baby and if it is confirmed that the man has no sperm and the woman has no egg or if the sperm and egg are unqualified to be used, then it is recommended the couple have an embryo donation. In this case, a sperm sample, which is selected by the couple, is supplied from the sperm bank.
At the same time the eggs are collected from an appropriate female donor. Afterwards, these eggs and sperm are united using appropriate methods in our centre, providing an average of 10 embryos, some of which are transferred to the mother candidate.
Create miracles with us...
Thanks to fresh, high quality and abundant eggs and sperm use and the highest laboratory conditions, our success rate in our IVF center is between 78% and 85%.
With our high pregnancy rate, we are looking forward to making you one of our happy couples…
